I was inspired to create an orc and decided to take it a bit further. It was a lot of fun and learned quite a bit from my previous attempts to render.
This is the start of my marvel tribute and adaptation of Nightcrawler.
I've been waiting a long time to join this anatomy course. Scott Eaton teaches professionals all around the world from beginners to those currently in the industry. Very much excited to be able to partake in such a in-depth class, I believe understanding anatomy is a life long commitment and I've just begun to understanding nits beautiful nature/complexity. Work in progress coming shortly...
Read MoreAs we are approaching the last couple weeks of class, I wanted to share my observations and take away. -My first rude awakening is the amount of time it takes to take a model to production quality. -Now in that realization there is also a level of gratification in what you are creating and when you are ready to display it to the world. Criticism is something every artist faces and realistically no model is perfect. -With that in mind constructive criticism awaits you regardless if you are ready or not. I believe the focus is not the fear of criticism but on a particular learning style. Observe, somewhat imitate, and then innovate. -The most powerful tool I feel is when you acknowledge that in order to improve you must challenge yourself.
Challenge yourself: Challenge yourself to topics, studies, and designs that intimidate you. -The definitive moment you tell yourself I am going to finish this piece is grand. Wesley Burt was asked how he made great concept art. He said that it was definitely practice but more importantly practicing what you're observing (Be like water). If you keep making the same mistakes how long before you say hey let me approach this a different way. My instructor Antropus is definitely skilled but aside from the knowledge he has shared I adopted his biggest piece of wisdom. It has been a reoccurring theme in his lectures, and that is self-learning.
Self-Learning: This is hard work, determination, drive, energy and awakening the remarkable talent in you. -I link self-learning to understanding Time. How much time are you giving yourself to get to the next step? How much time are you going to commit to this model in order to get the results it deserves? How much time are you willingly to invest to see your dreams become a reality? –Meaning you are on your own watch and you decide what you are capable of. Updates coming soon.
