Characters Overview
A series of characters that have been created throughout the course of my digital career. Inspired by a multitude of genres, other artists, and cultures.
Fallen Haneulso 하늘소
This project was inspired from various artists and appreciation for the Guyver series. Bio: Sworn to protect the last of its race. Haneulso holds humans responsible for the civil unrest and prepared to put everything on the line to unite its species.
Soul Conjurer
This character was created to test out NIra app for previewing dense concept art in Zbrush. Sculpted in Zbrush, accessories modeled in Blender, textured in Substance painter.
Ifrit’s Son
This was sculpted in Zbrush, Rendered in Keyshot, and composited in Photoshop. Inspired by a concept by Anthony Jones I pushed the final and added my own twist to the design.
Marcus Corvinus
A sculpt inspired by Underworld movie. A study that focused on anatomy and the re-creation of a pre-existing character from film references alone.
Kamen-X
Initially, I started this as a tutorial to showcase my process in Zbrush and ended up a study for Blender 2.8. This instantiates the use of the program as my main modeling software. Kamen X was rendered in cycles and setup with 8 UDIMS.
Wasp
A sculpt created in Zbrush and optimized in Blender - setup for an Unreal Metahuman. Mocap from Rokoko and Retargeted to UE mannequin.
Nagate
Nagate Tanikaze (Pilot 28): After the immortal committee's demise, Nagate swore to protect Sidonia and continue the development of Gardes technologies.
Angel 01
Shinji’s first encounter with infamous Angel species. This was also one of my first sculpts— one that kickstarted my passion for digital sculpting.
Daisuke (大輔 ) 88-01
88-01 was part of rival schools era in Shinjuku and sought out the fiercest competition. He was known for his outspokenness and outcasted of the local street gangs. This was sculpted in Zbrush and composited in Photoshop —and featured in the Gnomon gallery in 2016.
Horseshoe Crab
A study to showcase my experience with anatomy. I constructed the base mesh in Zbrush and poly-painted mesh using photos and artistic eye.
Xeno-Abara アバラ
This project was a tribute to Alien Day and my take on a Xenomorph | Abara fusion. -Sculpted in Zbrush, environment modeled in Moi, and rendered in Octane.
